Leadership Team

David Matalon

Chief Executive Officer & Founder

David Matalon is the CEO and Founder of Venn, the first purpose-built software for securely enabling BYOD workforces. Prior to Venn, Matalon led OS33, a secure workspace solution for compliance-driven companies. Matalonā€™s entrepreneurial spirit emerged early; he launched his first business at 13 years old and has since dedicated his career to creating technology that balances organizational flexibility with robust security. A native New Yorker, he earned his undergraduate degree from NYUā€™s Stern School of Business and holds a masterā€™s from Columbia University. David and his wife are raising their four children in their hometown of Great Neck.

Alex Osipov

Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder

Alex Osipov is Chief Technology Officer at Venn. He has led software development, technical operations, and cybersecurity efforts at Venn for more than a decade. He is intimately involved in product and platform delivery. Alex graduated from Stony Brook University, lives in NYC with his wife and two children, and spends his free time pondering the future of cybersecurity and reading biographies.

Heather Howland

SVP, Marketing

Heather Howland is SVP of Marketing at Venn. She is responsible for championing the Venn brand, building awareness, and accelerating growth. She has 20+ years of marketing experience and is passionate about bringing new technologies to market. She has held various marketing leadership roles at Cyral, Preempt (acquired by Crowdstrike), Lacoon Mobile Security (acquired by Check Point), and Q1 Labs (acquired by IBM). Heather was named a 2022 Stevie Award Winner for ā€œMarketing Executive of the Yearā€ in the American Business Awards. She lives in Sausalito, CA with her family.

Dvir Shapira

Chief Product Officer

Dvir Shapira is the Chief Product Officer at Venn. He is an experienced product management leader with a track record of scaling products from inception to market success. Dvir has seen accelerated growth in previous roles: At Incapsula and Imperva, he built the worldā€™s first Cloud WAF and grew the business from zero to hundreds of millions in under ten years. Dvir earned his undergraduate degrees in physics and electrical engineering, as well as his MBA, at Tel Aviv University. He is the first Vennetian to have been hired in California, where he lives with his wife and three children.

Jacob Kazakevich

Head of Service Delivery & Co-Founder

Jacob Kazakevich is a Co-Founder, serves as the Head of Product and is myopically focused on development and delivery of cybersecurity products to protect digital assets across the financial services industry. Jacob graduated from the NYUā€™s Stern School of Business. He immigrated to the US in the early 90s and now lives with his wife and three daughters in Manalapan, NJ.

Peter Lane

VP, Finance

Peter is the VP of Finance at Venn where he brings a successful track record as a financial operator in private equity backed tech companies over the past decade. Prior to becoming a Vennetian, he served as the head of Go-To-Market Finance at Kaseya, overseeing a period of expansion. Before that, he spent time at Flashtalking and Point72. Peter earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and is a CFA Charterholder. He lives in Brooklyn and is an avid outdoor enthusiast.
